Uncle Graham

Friday, 22 December

Unfortunately the little one and I had to go to the doctor this morning - we both have thrush, a lovely condition that makes nursing a nightmare. Luckily now we're both medicated and on the mend. But soon after we got home we had a great surprise - Uncle Graham arrived (early)! Beatrice was so excited she was still wearing her strawberry hat to greet him. They got along right away - Beatrice was enthralled.

Mom and Dad arrived shortly after and we all went out for a nice lunch downstairs at Carluccio's. Poor Zack had to work. After lunch the girls went for a walk through the park down to Marylebone High St to do a bit of shopping. It was cold!

In the afternoon Jason and Trevor stopped by to visit and meet little Beatrice. We're cultivating babysitters left and right... Zack was even able to make it home to visit with them. Grandma Elizabeth made a nice pot of Russian tea with Pimm's for all...yummm. And in the evening Ryan joined us for his last night in London. We had a great evening all together. Beatrice did her best to stay awake the whole time and participate, but eventually she did hit a wall (like father, like daughter).

Sad to hear that both of you have thrush - definitely not pleasant (Cat & I were "lucky" to experience it during Cat's second week). Hope the medicine will work fast and breastfeeding will become easy again.

Merry Xmas to you and the rest of your family and friends.
