Darkest week of the year

Sunday, 17 December

What should one do during the darkest week of the year? Get outside in those few daylight hours of course! We took advantage of the "spots" of sunshine today by getting out for a good walk - in Regent's Park and then over to Primrose Hill, where we had a fantastic view of the sun setting over London...at 3:30! Like Beatrice's day-glo stroller? The Maclaren strollers are built for English weather, becoming fully rain proof in about 10 seconds.

We also spent some time in the morning staring at the Christmas tree and just sitting and contemplating life.
In the evening it was just all too much for us, so it was resting time. We realized at this point that Beatrice had not had on one matching piece of clothing all day long - except for her knee socks, which only matched each other. She didn't seem too concerned! Here she is in one of her favorite sleeping poses - fully stretched out, covers kicked off. See that foot outstretched? I felt the heel of that foot in my ribs for a good 3 months before she was born.
