On Saturday we had a wonderful Three Kings dinner, a tradition in Zack's family. Zack made coq au vin, and afterwards we shared a Three Kings cake and presents - Grandma Mary Ann got the present inside and thus got to wear the crown! Beatrice and Eleanor dressed up in their Christmas finery for the event. The rest of us just got dressed, which was good enough. Beatrice was extra excited because she also got to meet her Grandpa Glen. They were both so excited/jet-lagged they bonded by sleeping on the couch for about an hour! Eleanor was very good about showing off "Baby" to her grandparents, though she also wanted to be held when Beatrice was being held - luckily there were lots of willing hands!
In other Beatrice-news - she's definitely growing. We weighed her on a scale at the Mayfair flat and according to our best estimates she's now closing in on 10 lbs! We'll have to wait for a real check-up to make sure, but she's certainly filling out. Zack and I think she'll have to move to the next diaper size up soon. Also she's spending much more time with her hands unclenched now - she has such long fingers! And I think she's going to be a talker - lots of cooing and making sounds on her own. Other than that? Still no real "schedule" to speak of and we both still have thrush - ugh. Hoping to get rid of that soon!
