Zack and Beatrice spent those 2.5 days together, doing lots of things it seems. Except her hair - Beatrice was 'pony' free for the whole time. They had a blast. The only really tough part came at the end of the 2.5 days when Beatrice got really, really cranky and a bit of a fever. So Zack gave her Motrin (the sweet sweet medicine). She took it, like she always does, with mouth wide open and tipped up, just like a baby bird. Then when it was done she looked at Daddy and said, "Two?"
Unfortunately the fever lasted off and on all day today too. She has just been miserable. Unlike anything I've ever seen with Beatrice - crying for 7 hours straight. We just got finished calling her doctor. Seems strep throat and some blister-in-the-mouth (??) virus is going around. I just hope she feels better tomorrow. She is so pitiful now.

On Tuesday before I left we had lunch at Shoreline with Aunt Camilla and Aunt Joanna, who stopped by for a nice visit on their way up to Santa Cruz and Oakland. Beatrice (still quite well then) had a great time with them. They even babysat while Zack took me out in his car for a last ride (and my first time driving it). The blue car is now gone - it's just not a suitable car for northern Cali.

We're looking forward to our last weekend in Santa Barbara and the arrival of our very last guest tomorrow - Grandma Mary Ann (Grandma Nanna)! When Beatrice heard this she said - "Anna?....Elnor?...Colb Colb?...Mae Mae?" We keep having to explain that Nanna isn't Anna and that we won't be seeing Anna, Eleanor, Colby and Megan for another week at least. So cute.
