Santa Ana Winds

The Santa Ana winds blew in a few days ago. Unfortunately along with the warmer weather, it has kick started fires across Southern California and brought tons of ash and soot from the Zaca fire down on us in Santa Barbara. Beatrice's knees and feet have just been black with the soot. Lovely.

Still she doesn't enjoy sitting in the grass..."ew, it's touching me!" Today the soot was finally thinner, but still, not fun. Unfortunately we've all been sick with bad colds too, though Beatrice seems to be doing better than all of us adults. Hasn't slowed us down too much though!

On Saturday we visited the Santa Barbara Mission with Laina. Beatrice tried her best to walk everywhere. The rose gardens were beautiful, even with the dust flying everywhere.

Afterwards we hit La Super Rica for lunch - Julia Child's favorite taquieria.

And we've all been enjoying Icy Pops. Grandma Elizabeth finally caved. And it helps Beatrice with teething.

Beatrice also enjoyed playing peekaboo with Grandma at Mesa Park.

On Sunday we left Santa Barbara and headed into the hills to try and get out of the smoke and soot. Not much luck, but we did have a nice lunch and wine tasting in Los Olivos.

Beatrice has been doing tons of things with her grandparents. So much fun. She's now completely spoiled. And walking EVERYWHERE!

And she's been enjoying "beer", or at least beer bottles.

Beatrice will certainly miss her Grands from Georgia!
