Praying for Rain

At this point 500,000 people in southern California have been evacuated from their homes. Roughly 400 square miles of land have burned already. Over a thousand homes have burned to the ground. They're estimating another 60,000+ are in danger. It's scary out here.

We're fine in Santa Barbara. There is only one small fire to the east of us right now. Nothing like what is south of us. The fires there are huge. The problem is these Santa Ana winds - they blow east. Fast and hot. Yesterday I left for work from Santa Barbara (it was a cool 70 degrees here). As I drove south the air became acrid with smoke, and after just an hour south of us yesterday it was 95 degrees with high winds. Hopefully the winds will stop on Thursday when they are supposed to.
It's supposed to rain tomorrow in London. For once I'm not gloating that it's not going to rain here. Instead I'm praying, against reason and hope, for rain in SoCal.
