Thanksgiving update
For those of you still checking (and sending those threatening letters), the Thanksgiving/bday photos from Georgia are finally up. Go check out November 21-24th for the new blog entries.

Bunny finder
Beatrice loves her Bunny. She sleeps with it. She chews on its ears and hands. She snuggles with it. We've definitely encouraged this, and have tried to limit Bunny-time to nap/sleep time only in an attempt to make going down for a nap easier. We have 3, just in case we lose one and so that we can wash the stinky things every now and then. One in her crib, one in the diaper bag and one in storage. That's the theory anyway. Two problems recently with this 'brilliant' parenting theory: 1) Beatrice knows where to find Bunny (exhibit A and B above)
She loves Bunny. 2) Now that she loves Bunny and hates napping, she's having to make some tough choices. So now when we put her in bed to take a nap, she stands up and screams and throws Bunny out of her crib to show us how mad she is to be taking a nap. Well, that was at first. Now she waits until we come into the room to pick her up to throw Bunny out of the crib. She's no dummy, that way she still gets Bunny time and gets to be mad at the same time.
In other bizarre news I've discovered that all the clothes we bought Beatrice recently look vaguely like maternity clothes. (see above) Weird.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Christmas tree, lights, ornaments, 10" mice dressed as Mr and Mrs Claus...if that doesn't say Christmas, I don't know what does! Beatrice loves the tree and all the Christmas stuff around the house. Her favorite thing thus far is the little yogurt cup we use to refill the water on the Christmas tree.
Can't help but think that if Beatrice was speaking English at this point, in the photo below she'd be saying, "Merry Christmas ya'll!"

Weekend Away
Zack and I had quite the wild weekend - his company's Christmas party on Friday night in Santa Barbara and then my company's party in LA at Sky Bar on Saturday. Very fancy. Very fun. And we spent a whole 24 hours away from Beatrice! Parts of it were hard, but not the part where we both slept in until SEVEN AM!

Besides, Beatrice had a blast with Sarah B. They partied all weekend. Beatrice even got some extra Bunny time.

Right before we got home on Sunday morning, Sarah B called to say that she and Beatrice had been playing the "door game" (B's new thing is to close a door, have you knock, and then open it and smile at you...and then repeat 700 times). Anyway, she kept closing the door and then Sarah B said she could hear her talking to something, similar to how she talks to Bunny before she goes to sleep. So she peeked around the door and saw that Beatrice had my ID badge from work, which has my picture, and she was holding it and talking to it. So cute. It took all my willpower not to drive home at 100mph. Plus Zack was driving and he rightly refused.

All I Want For Christmas...
...is for her TWO FRONT TEETH to come in!!
This was taken at 5:45am today. After Beatrice had been up for an hour. It looks like all of the rest of her teeth are coming in. SLOWLY. Poor Bea, she is dealing with the pain pretty well. Although the wake ups at 12pm and 4am are getting really really old, really really fast.
So I take that back - all I want for Christmas is some sleep!

Surf's Up!
This picture doesn't even begin to capture it. The waves were huge. The bottom of the steps were in the ocean. As I drove south for work, I had to drive through the spray from the waves - it looked like fog it was so thick. You should've seen the surfers. To quote one I overheard, "Dude...wow. Seriously." I thought he captured the moment perfectly.
In other news Beatrice is happy. If teething. This picture was taken right after she said "Hi" to one of my work colleagues on the phone. I held up the phone and said, "Say 'hi' Bea" and she said "Hi" and went on her way. Amazing.

The Karens!
KMB and Karen drove down from San Francisco to spend the weekend with us. Beatrice loved them both, but she especially liked Karen's sparkly jewelry. Miss Pinchy Fingers went to town on all her rings and necklaces. And Zack and I had a great time with them (and the 7 or so bottles of wine) too. My favorite thing about both of them? They can look like this one minute:

And like this the next:

'Nuff said.
The ladies (minus Beatrice, ah...) went out on Saturday and Sunday shopping. I still didn't manage to find any shoes, even with the Karen's help, but I did get some serious support help - think Bridget Jones' Diary. And I got Beatrice these leg warmers! Aren't they fabulous?? Not tights, so they won't be tight on her tummy, just leg warmers!

Beatrice's new thing is now to smile when the camera comes out. Such a ham. Or perhaps I pull the camera out too much?

Beatrice also got a new pocketbook from Andreja and Urban, all the way from Slovenia. She loves it! She also had fun dragging Karen's travel bag around the house. So helpful.

On Saturday night we got all glammed up and the adults went out for dinner at The Wine Cask.

And this was after we all went to Tupelo Junction Cafe on State Street on Saturday for lunch (yum). Beatrice is doing her very best to eat like a big girl. Don't worry, she only licked the BLT here.
