Beatrice, much to our dismay, seems to LOVE cats. My parents' cat Molly is now her absolute favorite. Only she has named it "Mimi"; it is wonderful though to hear my grandmother's (on my Dad's side) name again so often.
Beatrice particularly seems to enjoy mornings in Georgia. Waking up, harassing Mimi-kitty, eat-eat-eating with "Granma" and Granddaddy ("Boom" is the closet approximation to a word Beatrice has made for Granddaddy thus far).
In the afternoon, when it gets really hot Beatrice has found the secret to staying cool - the floor air vents blowing the AC in. I still remember being 7 years old and practically living on top of those things when it was really hot. Plus dresses poof up so well when you're on the vent!
We also had fun playing dress-up-the-baby. And Beatrice sewed with Granma Elizabeth again, much to her delight. I keep waiting for baby-sweatshop to start in earnest.
We also gave Granma Elizabeth an early birthday present...a Playmobile model of grandparents and a Mimi-kitty. She so wants that shirt.
