Saturday morning our vacation started! We picked up Sarah B and headed out of Santa Barbara in time for Beatrice to take a nap in the car. It is a beautiful drive from SB to Mammoth Lakes - through the Mojave desert (it looks like alot like Namibia) and up through the Owens valley.
We had to stop quite a few times due to the screaming from the backseat (Beatrice, not Sarah B). One time was in a little spot with a view of Mt Whitney, the highest point in the continental US. Zack climbed it...long before Beatrice was born. I love the motel sign. The whole drive was filled with sights like this.
And signs for beef jerky...
All in all, Beatrice was pretty good in her carseat for the 6 hour trek.
