Springtime in Oakland

Spring has officially sprung in Oakland.  We have had lovely weather.  On Sunday the 5th, we hosted a backyard birthday BBQ for Karen.  The photos capture the mood - it was sunny, warm, yummy food, and very relaxing.
Beatrice has been celebrating the changing weather with new pink toenail polish ("Painty!"), sandals, and popsicles.
The only downside to spring weather?  It's ever-changing - warm and sunny one day and cold and breezy the next.  Between that and my travel to LA, Beatrice has had her moments.

Sarah's going to kill me for posting this picture, and I have no idea what happened to elicit this picture, but my guess is Beatrice was moping/whining and Sarah did what she always does - she went that extra step to make B smile.
Our friends Helen and Jon from the UK popped over for a visit as well.  As they also now have a little one, Daniel, we decided a kid-friendly museum was best.  www.exploratorium.edu - very fun, even if the kids didn't get any of it (and the adults didn't either because we were chasing them everywhere!)
Daniel was so cute getting in and out of his box; and Beatrice and Zach were quite a sight in the Alice-in-Wonderland-style perspective room.
